Testing one, two, één, twee, une, deux, ien, twa, ein, zwo. The first interview through Internet for ART12. Soundings clear and sound, all well, from Hamburg, Germany. Eins Zwo rocking from Hamburg with their debut album '
Gefährliches Halbwissen', (Dangerous Half Knowledge). Released on 'Yo Mama Records' www.yomama.de, (Germany = Deutschland) also from Hamburg. Original Dendemann is from Sauerland and DJ Rabauke is from Flensburg. They knew each other before they both came to Hamburg. Hamburg (in north west
Germany) is a good place to dwell these days. The scene is growing and booming. As the second biggest harbor of the world importing a lot of goods and now the scene is expanding exporting into the backlands of Germany.

Well what do you think about making a first tape and sell 1.500 pieces? Selling is not the issue for the most b-boys and b-girls in Europe. But hey, with these numbers it makes it a lot easier to do your thing. How did you do it?
Eins Zwo:
"We sold the tapes at concerts. We toured a lot... that's why. And if you are selling tapes at concerts people are more into that because it's much more underground."
But selling 1.500 of your first tape, why not making a cd straight away?
Eins Zwo:
"If you release a CD single straight away...people don't feel like they have something special like if you just have an underground tape out." In this way you grow your audience and fan basis. And it will not be gone before you know it in one day.

A question we always ask artists is why. Why would you make music? There are a lot of different artists with a lot of different reasons. Thought they all have mostly the same kind of reason. But a bit different.
Eins Zwo:
"The fascination arise of the possibility to create the same kind of music we have listened to. And of course the fascination of music is also a reason to produce it."
So what is the specific style?
The Eins Zwo answer... well a more simple answer wasn't possible:
"The style is having the same handful of hip hop essentials like anybody else but being a bit different."

A debut album is the most important album to make. If it's a good record you probably will get a chance to make a second. The second brings total different problems. If there is a second album. So many ideas and music. What you gonna do with the debut album?
Eins Zwo:
"Having the possibility of showing what you feel and showing off your skills. On a full length album, you can show a lot of it."
You can put a lot on an album. Though, still saving material for the second one?
Eins Zwo:
"We can not wait to do the second."
To keep in speaking terms of seconds. What is the concept of the first album?
Eins Zwo: "The concept of the first album is very simple," but hard to achieve for many, "not having one boring second on it."
What are the song contents lyrically?
Eins Zwo:
"Battle songs and songs with personal experiences."
The similar thing between HipHop and sport is competition. Rendemann often uses metaphors with sport terms in his lyrics. 'Sport' is also the name of their first EP. From the docks side of Hamburg to the biggest harbor in the U.S. The EP was in the famous D&D studios in New York City.
Dendemann:
"For a b-boy it's a great experience to take home."
