Wanted 2000
Who's going to make it through the selection of Stg. GRAP's Wanted 2000 RnB and HipHop talent search? Who will be among the four competitors that will
perform on the Final Showcase in Venue Paradiso? All questions we cannot answer. What we can do is telling you
who is who. From Stg. GRAP we received a bundle of bio's. It's
interesting and fun to read and study the young and brave talent.
We have a bio with "Confidental" printed on it (A bio confidential? It ain't no CV) and even two
hand written ones. Surprising stories and to our satisfaction,
some bands with roots from Ghana. Ghana represents, big up!
Your host DJ SP and not shown Too Tall
We took some headlines from
their bios. The photo's we received were of poor quality, we tried
to make the best out of them. Check them out
Bijlmer Boys
MC's: Ondeugende G. and Dr. Genius
Music: HipHop.
Streets: Bijlmer.
The bio says:
"P.S.: Bijlmer Boys already exist for five years. The whole posse
is made up out of ten boys with different styles."
B-Boy
MC: B-Boy
Music: HipHop
Streets: Bijlmer
Posse: Ruff Squad
The bio says:
"Since I'm in The Netherlands (Born in Ghana, ed.) I started living HipHop. It was the dopest shit that I could think of. I'm a story teller,
that's my style. I love it when people are listening to me. I
always try to give them a positive message."
II Men Army
MC's: Rhyme and A.K.
Music: HipHop
Streets: Bijlmer.
The bio says:
"II Men Army handle different social problems from their environment with
sensitive and realistic lyrics. But they also have battle rhymes.
Although they don't have much experience with performing, they
are convinced that they will appeal to the mainstream audience.
Of course they want to get the first prize but on the same note,
also too get more experienced."
Tha Truth
MC's: 2Real, Extreme and King -MC
Music: HipHop
The bio says:
"Inspirational motto: We are here to speak the truth and nothing
but the truth to the youth before they hit the roof. Purpose of
the music: First of all we want everybody to recognize our talent.
Many people see HipHop as a game of violence, but if you read
our lyrics you could see that it brings peace and silence. Our
songs are for both old and young, cause we talk about the past
and the present."
Double Deuce
MC's: 2 Fly and Davey G
Music: HipHop
The bio says:
"The European rap group that does have what it takes
. Combining diversity,
heat and passionately constructed rhymes to create Xtra Fly trackz
that would make even Bob Dole wanna get down. Their songs tell the tales of 2 young, black
men living in the 21st century. All the trials 'n tribulations,
the temptations, the dreams, the losses, the adventures, the love
and of course the parties.
A duo known to satisfy and rock any crowd. None of that 1,2 1,2
backpack bullshit. Pure entertainers with that natural mass appeal
and chemistry. Ladies love Davey and Fly's beats iz crazy. When
they're not performing they're either in the studio working or
on the streetz/phone getting' their name out. See, they are on
a mission to blow up like Don King's hairdryer!!!
Young, hungry and ready to do whatever it takes to reach the top
(and stay there!). They live and breath music. Ain't no A&R's
creatin' these (future) stars, ya dig. They feel their music deserves
the world as an audience. With the right coaching staff this team
will evolve to be the MVP's of HipHop; sooner or later.
U N S T O P P A B L E is written on their souls - therefore they
are destined to make their double marks on the musc industry as
we & y'all know it.
HOLLA AT EM' NOW - OR REGRET IT LATER.
We know we're pushin' it, but be real: nice guys finish last -
they bringz heat"
Ren-A-C
MC's: Modja-lex, J. Suncain and Premium.
Music: HipHop
Streets: Amsterdam
The bio says:
"When we saw on internet the enrollment for 'Wanted', we got busy
right away with all the means we have. We hope that we have a
chance with 'Wanted' to show the audience what we have in store."
The Group
MC's: SYD and L-B-N-O
DJ: DJ Extraa
Music: HipHop
Streets: The Hague
The Bio says:
"Pure HipHop originated out of pure love for the culture. On stage
you can see that The Group is a product of HipHop itself. A DAT
tape never can replace a good live band but electronic music can
not brought to you any more live than by this trio. With a strong
diversity, powerful and total devotion they walk through their
set. Without falling back on boring cliches. In the battle move
minutes of DJ Extraa it becomes clear what it takes to shine as
a turntablist."

Vocalist: Bastiaan, Markoes, Rezon & Martin Pattipeiluhu
Music: Gospel and RnB
Site: www.4dalord.net
The bio says:

Tour '98. Bastiaan did not choose for fame and money in the world of TMF/MTV. He chose for the Lord."
Association
MC's: North Starr a.k.a. The Messenger and Honest a.k.a. The Realist
DJ: Left
Music: HipHop, RnB and Reggea
Streets: Rotterdam
The bios says:
"Some members of Association were members of the group Formation. 'Formation' was formed during a party in a disco. During this
party there was the opportunity to sing or to rap. With a couple
of friends we started to rap, just for the fun. The audience liked
it and the organizers liked it that much that they asked us to
perform on another party. So we formed a group. Sadly that performance
did not go like we wanted to go. The sound quality was lacking
quality and the mics were broken. This all ended that our real
first gig flopped."
Paranoiac Foolz
MC's: Pen and Kon
Bass player: Groovemaster
Music: HipHop
The bio says:
"What we do is simple, we give a good show with a high quality.
We want to be different than all the other acts. It seems that
all HipHop performances are not more than a little bit waving
with your hands en a little bit of screaming! On the contrary
we try to think about the show too, by including a dance-act and
a bass player."
Sincere

The bio says:
"Sincere is an act that wants to join 'Wanted'. For the core reason that they like to stand on stage."

by the right people."
Donovon

performance."
