24K, No Enemies

Waaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!

What does DJAX-001 and DJAX-10055 have in common? The first one is the first release of 24K, 'No Enemies' on vinyl. The second is the re-release on CD with all the material that never saw the light on CD, only on vinyl. There is still a demand for this record. Which was the first full length HipHop album of a Dutch crew and also the start of Miss Djax's DJAX Records. The first album ever made by a Dutch crew was D.A.M.N., which stand for: Don't Accept Mass Notion. They delivered an album with instrumental tracks on the B-side.

E.N.B. (from New York), DJ Wan 2, Arc S and Zar One (all from Eindhoven, The Netherlands) signed their contract in 1989. And made the classic 'No Enemies'. The much searched for and mostly never found 'Twenty Four Ways' 12" is as an extra on the CD version of 'No Enemies'. The 12" features Shakespeare from New York, a cousin of E.N.B. After all these years it still sounds very good.

After a while the guys of 24K broke up. Zar One together with DJ Wan 2 started up another project with CMC, from CMC/Soul Relation, from Utrecht.
DJ Wan 2: "Djax wanted that E.N.B. would join us once more so we could do another 24K album: 'Words Yet Unspoken'. Released in 1992." It was sort of an album 'because it had to be done'. It never matched the classic 'No Enemies'. Arc S was checking out AQ as his possible future DJ at that time. But AQ as a sixteen year old youngster, also from Eindhoven, on his Lenco's wasn't all that. (Later on his SL1200 MKII's he still wasn't all that either) So it never worked and Arc S disappeared and became a 'Missing Person' for a long time.

One year after the release of the second album 'Words Yet Unspoken' the group finally broke up after all. DJ Wan 2 produced some commercial projects including the famous track 'Wicked' of General Levy from London. And now a days he is a breaker in the Caz One Crew. See 'Back To Planet Rock'. DJ Wan 2 is the one dressed up as Santa Claus.
