Capturing raw uncut dope on a tape. You don't need expensive studio equipment to drop a masterpiece. Brainpower has a reputation to be a tough freestyler in both languages (Dutch and English). The sad thing is that a freestyle is something you only hear at live performances. And it's seldom recorded and released. With the move to release a tape with the best of his freestyles this man finally released something totally of his own. And dropping hard evidence of his skills. So all the peeps that love can copy the tape and pass them to their friends and family. Spreading the noise. Or just buy the tape.

'The Freestyles Chapter vol. 1' features a cast of street celebrities. And some of them became mainstream stars right now. So for the cats who only know them from the television or the videos it's a chance to get more familiar. Murt-The-Man-O-Script drops by a couple of times with fat lyrics. Host of the national HipHop TV show The Pitch. And Rollarocka, from Postmen, often teams up with his mate Brain. Too Tall doing his thing too. Surprisingly DJ TLM kicks some lines too. And doing it swell. Krewcial represents Belgium. From New York Kool Keith is sharing some time. Also from the big rotten is Don Scavone. Psyclone is the deepest underground cat, representing Amsterdam Southeast. The Roots' Scratch took care of a very ill intro on the b-side.

The sessions are taken from former radio shows Bassline Radio, Daily Operation and Dutch Masters. Live performances and back in the crib of Oh Jay and other home studios. The oldest freestyle dates from 1995-3-30.

After this release you would expect a debut album from DJ TLM and Brainpower. But no, the bio doesn't rap about any debut release. How ever there are some featuring appearances coming soon: On your local tube in the new video 'Zoete Hap' by Extince, the second and new album of the Spookrijders, and on the debut EP of U-Gene & Oh-Jay.
