Gus
Audi like 5000, dropping mad stuff in the '99. New independent record label Brick 9000, is in here. The first release of the record company from Ghent, Belgium, contains Gus. Who we already knew from the Krewcial LP "Live Guy With Glasses." This 12" includes two songs.
The first is 'Wordz To The Wize' produced by Desk (Dehael). The 12" is HipHop proof, main instrumental and accapela included bla bla. So you can cut it up.
"I'm self sufficient/never humble"
The main track drops in the right way. At once you feel the track. The violin sample makes you think of Gangstarr. Sadly the violin is too weak and it's getting boring very quickly. The bassline is mad, good melody and extra push by a good matching piano play on the back ground. Desk should have searched for a stronger violin sample. Which if he found the right one would make this beat crazy mad. "I'm the main reason why you should not pick up the mic." The lyrics of Gus are good, bragging and boasting. And the flow is clear and sound. Only the articulation is coming not very natural. It sounds like Gus has to concentrate a little bit too much on how he says things. In short a good song. The remix is done by DJ Grazzhoppa.
'Stylo Collabo'
'Stylo Collabo' is the b-side fetauring Brainpower from Amsterdam. And Unikxxs and Kaine. The concept by Brainpower and the cuts are by Unikxxs and Kaine. Beat by Desk. Gus' flow is coming more natural on this track. Brainpower drops some power lines. The melody makes the headnodding a lot faster. "For MC's who want to battle/it would be like Erycah Badu and Maxwel playing heavy metal", Brainpower. Stylo Collabo
