Live Guy With Glasses

"Mr. Stereotype thinks he's unique with the mike/but uh uh/there's a lot of wanna-emcee like him in every single city, village or spot/claiming to be something they are definitely not/yeah I know me too I kick it in stereo/but far from typical. I'm original."

The guy from Gent, Belgium with glasses drops his debut album: "Live Guy With Glasses". After working with Extince from Amsterdam, Tanja Sow (Zap Mama), Mystik Journeyman and The Grounch (Living Legends) from the Bay Area USA, Krewcial finally has his time for his own. The underground heads from the Flatlands already heard him on VPRO's Villa 65's Dutch Masters and on the compilation 'FritHop Is Dood' he produced several tracks. What's up with the mainstream heads? He does not care. "Ain't nothing better than the shit I got/since it's all in my hands I can never be dropped/so get ready for us/the K and Gus/as we rock your local spot non-stop with underground Hiphop"

Coming into your ears the 'Live Guy With Glasses' with a good flow and tight rhymes over mid tempo Jazz influenced beats. In old fashion not-cleared-samples make it harder to discover were the two got the samples from. Making clear and sound what he has got to say on his nine songs debut album. Produced and written by the man himself for Vinylators and released by Play It Again Sam Records. All scratches by main man DJ Gus. "There's only a few of us left in HipHop today: emcees and poets who got something to say", "Words have an enormous potential but in the daily situation, language is propaganda and not communication." From the song 'Words 7.0'.

It's an album without one boring second on it. Even when it's finished it keeps on spinning in your head. For example: the song about Nike. Nike Air Max are my favorite shoes. It's hard for Krewcial too, because Nike has some tight shit. Gotta have them, but Euro150 is too much. Keeping on doubting, almost 'just do it' and buy them. However, it is that Chuck D in my head: "I love Nike/but wait a minute/the neighborhood supports/so put some money in it" From 'Shut Em Down' (www.public-enemy.com). Scratched by DJ Gus: 'I love Nike/ but wait a minute!' Krewcial ticked the balance in my doubting: "I feel cheated and betrayed/cause for all the Nikes that I paid/people been exploited and enslaved/Now I manifest my discontent/see Nike I disagree with your whole employment policy/it's a shame/not worth the name of a Greek goddess" (The Greek goddess of victory is called Nike, ed.). Demanding you to ask yourself the question what matters most: your looks or people being oppressed? For those who do not care, well it is your choice. However, Krewcial refuses to live a lie. So, do not believe the tell-lie-vision. Thanks to Krewcial and D. (Mental Kees came up with the title for the song) I made up my mind: Nike? "Just Don't"!

"If it ain't out on vinyl it's still a no no," Krewcial and Gus are very clear about their mindstate concerning the culture. They made sure PlayItAgainSam Record Company released the album also on vinyl. Yes, we love to cut up dope shit. Only sad that we received the cd version. At least the cd booklet includes the lyrics. Too many MC's are rocking without a DJ. It is a shame. Krewcial and DJ Gus are showing their disgust about this sick symptom in the song Vinylators. Stating it very simply: 'You can be the best crew or most innovative MC/but if you're only on cd/then you ain't shit to me'
