Postmen

Documents

"I told ya, Postmen: Roots and Culture!" Fresh sound from the Docks, Rotterdam, The Netherlands. The Anonymous Mis is the producer and rapper. DJ G-Boah well, he's the DJ. And Rollarocka sings (Dutch best MC). And we can expect more from Rollarocka's AMO-lab with DJ Precise. Postmen are live backed up by a nine-piece band. Giving you a hardcore HipHop sound mixed with raw reggea.

Their debut single, a underground classic, Docks Documents was released by CMC/Soul relation. The follow up Cocktail became a small hit and the third: U Wait is booming. The last two were released by V2. V2 also released the debut album: Documents.

The song African Postmen by Burning Spear gave the inspiration for the bands name. Righteous rhymes and singing. Talking about serious messages. The first single: 'Cocktail' is a love song but: surprise straight up hipHop. The second single of this album is "U Wait". The video was shot in Surinam. Made possible by Surinam Airways.

U Wait:
The train is left / All your friends are gone
Oh boy you're waiting so long
there is no other station / your time is been wasted
you wait until the judgements come

Master pieces are Crisis, U Wait, Cocktail, Build On Blood, Renaissance
(featuring Dignity), This Life, Brotherly Love and When In Doubt featuring E-Life. The whole album is just master. 'This Life' is also used as a break in E-Life's song More Days To Come.

Postmen is a positive band with a new sound and a righteous state of mind. No meaningless lyrics about Gucci, Benzes (what's the point, almost every Dutch cab is a Benz, ed.) and 'how-many-women'. Postmen got a message!

The only big misser on the album is the song Cocktales (not Cocktail): The Anonymous: "Bedroom assasination / mad lady loving / multiple husband / laughing at kids who don't know it's their lady I'm fucking". With righteous comes consistent, too many forget this. Hopefully this is the only misser of Postmen.

The last song "When In Doubt" tells you the story how E-Life and The Anonymous 'market the scheme'. E-Life: "Careful calculating constipating / recognise we wasn't playing". These artists are on top of their game. No mistakes are allowed and they demand to be in control of every aspect of the progress of their material. So it looks very sloppy to have a master piece like Documents be fucked up by a mixed up booklet. Guess artists have a problem with their DTP. Well "But we are only human / not always perfect in what we're doing", from U Wait.
