TeRiLekst & Allemaal Sterren

I (Herbz) phoned AQ, and asked him about the latest newz in HipHopLand. They received a debut / promo album at the editorial office, from a guy named TeRiLekst, and if I had time to make a review about this album.... Well, I thought that TeRiLekst would be relaxed so after some research, I had to check this CD. When you think about Dutch-rap you will come out with the "Nederhop" raw and wacked lyrics. But I don't prejudice and was curious about this guy and his songs.

The intro starts with Een Woord Vooraf (an introduction) about the rapper RiLekst aka Dennis Mitchell. The 3rd track (Opzij) on the album contains a pretty cool fast beat, and lyrics that are well-considered. At the Altemachtige they use an Extince, 'tremendous-strong' sample. According to TeRiLekst, Extince has pushed the Dutch rap into the right direction. The 7th track at the album, Jaknikkers, is a very relaxed song, with a little help from rappers like: Tenslum, Papa J, and MW32.
Waar Is Je Klok (where's your clock) contains a good beat, you'll have to hear it! Collabo Ratio features. Spacecase, seb & bashfull from the flex family, understandable, but what's the subject?
At track 14 (could not read the name) TeRiLekst tells you something about his short relationships: "Dit is hoe ik het doe / dit is hoe ik het breng/ dit is hoe je het wil/ dit is hoe je het krijgt/ doe me dat maar eens na!"
(this is how I do it, this is how I bring it, this is how you want it, this is how you get it, try to beat that!)

Waar Gaan We Heen? (where are we going to?) tells the story about the individual in society and how TeRiLekst is thinking about that. The track is really good, certainly with those sang parts. Ruimte Vol Sterren (space full of stars) is a melting pot of different styles and beats, definitely the part with Case is good, you can feel it. This group mc's have skills and they show at this promo / debut album what they've got in store.

Nawoord is about the Dutch rap, and why the term 'Nederhop' is wrong for the Dutch HipHop. TeRiLekst & Allemaal Sterren is not to be called Nederhop. The beats are dope! You can swing on them, unlike many other productions in the Dutch language.

The lyrics are in general very poetic and flowing for sure. My opinion on this debut CD, TeRiLekst is dope! Phat piece of work for a 20 year old cat from the south of the Netherlands.
