Mindbomb deliver an immediate, attention grabbing album that takes hip hop to a new level by absorbing British influences such as Mark Thomas, Clive Barker, Peter Seliers, John Pilger, lain M Banks, Blur, Manies, Mansun, The Kinks, and carefully twisting them around the Ruf's unique beats & rhymes. At last a HipHop album has been produced by a British artist that flows effortlessly without the need to skip tracks. THE RUF has finely tuned his production skills over the last few years on his critically acclaimed JEEP BEAT COLLECTIVE tracks, and this experience has been used with the greatest range of obscure samples used on a rap album. There are a wide variety of styles here helped by the new additions to the Mindbomb crew including some wild human beat box appearances.. The tempo is moved up on many tracks to re-instate HipHop as club music and with bug beat dying a death & house becoming repetitive that's no bad thing. Floor fillers such as the label anthem "Ruf Beats", the conga led "Great British Beef"- the wild live Fast-Show Seducer and the fatter than Fat boy Slim churning funk guitar riffed "Produce the friction", all ensure DJ's will be kept smiling. Whilst the more thought provoking tracks like the orchestra led "Twisted Therapy" & radio crossover & legalise cannabis anthem "Free Weed" should help secure some specialist plays on radio.

A dark instrumental space suite over 3 tracks includes "Deconstruction of a failing star" and samples including Clint Eastwood, Daleks and scary prophets showing THE RUF's versatility to create beats & moods even darker than Portishead & Massive Attack, (check "Hardcore Sunstorm" for proof). Never forgetting his love for pure hip hop, heads will recognize the tales of a musical youth on "Drip feed me hip hop", as well as feeling the warnings and stories contained in "The relationship" & "Work like a slave". Which delivers probably the most complicated rhyme flow from THE RUF yet. Mindbomb are veterans of the hip hop scene, unrivaled in that this is their 3rd album to date. They are infamous for their "Westwood is a tw@t" single and have had tracks released on the US "Bomb World wide" compilation ("Hazardous Journey"), the ANDY SMITH mix album "The Document" with the "stop ya skemes REMIX" , BOLSHI's "Donuts" with "Metacosmic dimension" and AIR & STYLE world Snowboard finals compilation. Their 2 previous albums "trippin thru the minefield" volumes 1 and 2 received critical acclaim and main man THE RUF has done more vocal shows around the UK than any other hip hop artist including rocking UK Fresh 97 along with Jurassic 5, Q-bert & co.

Britain's most successful HipHop indie has been called "the best hip hop label in the UK" by Melody Maker with 22 releases in 6 years. Ruf Beats mainly releases THE RUF's 3 aliases - MINDBOMB, JEEP BEAT COLLECTIVE and GODFATHER OF WEIRD but has also released other artists on the Ruf Diamonds series. It is the only label to have released 9 albums and was the first independent British label to license a full album for release in the US, with JEEP BEAT's "Technics Chainsaw Massacre" currently knocking up heavyweight sales world wide. Furthermore the label actually helped start the Return of the Dj with the first ever alt scratching album by JEEP BEAT as well as encouraging todays thriving turntablist culture by including beats mixes & scratchapella's before battlebreaks even existed. Ruf Beats continues to innovate and has recently become a member of the BPI.
